Scholarship Opportunity: 2026 SIM MN Scholarship – Supporting Technology Education in Minnesota
SIM Minnesota is dedicated to furthering IT education and leadership opportunities within our community.
SIM MN offers STEM scholarships to students pursuing post secondary education in a STEM discipline. Please find details about the program and application process. We need your help to activate applicants for this four-year, renewable scholarship- $1000 per year.
Eligibility:
- Open to all students in MN Schools
Award Amount:
- Up to $4,000 – Recipients receive $1,000 per year for each year of college or technical school, up to four years.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Passion & Creativity – A compelling video application that showcases strong energy, passion, and creativity.
- Work Experience – Consideration of any relevant work experience or internships.
- Extracurricular Involvement – Participation in school activities, sports, or community service/volunteer work.
- Academic Achievement – Classroom performance with a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5 for scholarship consideration.
Video Application Guidelines:
Applicants are encouraged to address the following topics in their video submission:
- What sparked your passion for pursuing a degree in an IT field?
- Share a significant personal challenge you’ve faced during high school and how you overcame it.
- How do you envision your college education shaping your future career goals and aspirations?
- Describe a community service or extracurricular activity that has had a meaningful impact on your personal growth and development.
- What sets you apart from other applicants and makes you uniquely qualified to receive this scholarship?
- How do you plan to contribute to your college community and make a positive impact on campus life if awarded this scholarship?
2026 Dates:
- March 2 – Applications Open
- April 10- DEADLINE EXTENDED (or when 30 applications are received) – Applications Close
- Week of April 20 – Notify scholarship recipients
