Foundation Update May 2020

Wow!  How things can change!  Any other year, by now,  I would have greeted all of our Spring Grant awardees at MCTM Duluth. (We had funded $4,408 worth of expenses.)  I would also have greeted the Ross Taylor Symposium grant awardee. I would have greeted so many friends and colleagues that I only get to see once a year, catching up on what had happened over the year.

Our Book sale would have been a rousing success (rather than the books being stored on the shelves in my garage).  Our quilt raffle winner would have been announced and that quilt would have been hanging in a classroom somewhere (rather than folded in my linen closet). We would have had a grand good time playing corn hole, and some lucky person would have taken it home (rather than being stored in Donna’s garage).

The MCTM Foundation gathers most of its funds during the MCTM Spring Conference from donations and the book sale.   So  – What can you do to help the Foundation?

  • As you clean and go through your supplemental materials, save extra copies of resources and donate them to us for the 2021 Spring Conference Book Sale.
  • Consider making a donation (see below)

Donations from educators and others committed to supporting teachers drives the Foundation’s ability to offer professional development opportunities. Since 2004, the MCTM Foundation has awarded grants and scholarships to 112 teachers, totaling $44,784.50.

By increasing our publicity efforts, we have significantly increased the numbers of awards requested. But last year, we were able to fund only some of the worthy scholarships and grants requests.  We are asking you to consider making a donation to the MCTM Foundation to help provide more grants and scholarships for Minnesota Teachers of Mathematics.  ]

Contributions are tax deductible and can be made in any of the following ways:

Thank you for supporting Minnesota teachers of mathematics.
