The NCTM Annual Meeting & Exposition is October 15–18 in Atlanta! This is the largest gathering of math educators, featuring inspiring sessions, expert keynotes, networking opportunities, and new technologies in the exhibit hall. (Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 2026 Minnesota conference on April 24-25!)
Resource Spotlight: NCTM members have free access to Mathematics Teacher: Learning & Teaching PK–12. The August issue highlights “Agency and Critical Literacy in Elementary Mathematics” by Courtney Koestler, showing how to connect math to real-world issues and foster student agency. You’ll also find ideas for supporting multilingual learners and 28 classroom-ready Problems to Ponder for PK–12.
Classroom Tip: Try a “Notice and Wonder” warm-up this week. Show a problem or image and ask: What do you notice? What do you wonder? It sparks curiosity and mathematical thinking. NCTM members can find ready-to-use tasks linked on the NCTM website and in past MTLT articles.
