We’re all tired…

On Friday we had an activity afternoon at my school. It was the culmination of Snow Week with outdoor and indoor activities facilitated by teachers for students grades 6-12.

Some teachers went the easy route, i.e., the movie room and the study room, because they were tired.

As a change from my math teacher assignment, I did a Valentine’s Day treat activity.  We frosted sugar cookies and made chocolate-covered strawberries and candy in molds.  It was a lot of work to prepare and was a popular station.  I had the pleasure of seeing my students in another setting other than my math classroom.  It was GREAT! There were so many smiling faces.

As I was cleaning up at the end of the day, one of the teachers came by and said, boy, it was sure quiet today.  They did not see many students participating in the easy prep activity they chose because they were tired.

I’m tired too, but I am grateful I pushed through and had an engaging, creative activity. My advice to you is to do the extra little bit.  It will be so worth it.
