MCTM Foundation September 2022 Update

The MCTM Foundation
was so pleased to provide Spring Conference support.
What a Treat to See So Many Teachers at the Spring Conference!!!!
Our book sale and our quilt raffle were great successes.
Sue has an idea for next year’s quilt.

Our Spring Conference grantees shared the following comments in their reports.

“The conference this year was revitalizing and invigorated.  Being in person and learning from all the best minds across the profession was incredible.  To a certain extent, it reminded me of what teaching is all about – collaboration, helping one another succeed, brainstorming, creativity, etc. – all for the ultimate purpose of how we as mathematics teachers can better serve our students that we get to see each and every day.”

“The presenters that brought the most value to my experience at the conference were Becki Schmidt and Cheryl Tucker from CPM. Both sessions were very hands-on, and I walked away with actionable changes to make in my classroom.  Best of all, they provided us with an experience that required us to act as critical thinkers, reminding the participants how to create a thinking classroom.”

“I am passionate about social justice and creating an equitable environment for my students so I was excited to see several sessions about this topic.  I went to a session with Lesa Covington-Clarkson and Fawnda Norman.  The interactive activity about using maps and graphs is something that I plan to use within the next few weeks with my students. We are learning about analyzing and displaying data.”
