MCTM and the MCTM Foundation are awarding two Teacher Incentive Grants:

  1. Better Boards for a Thinking Classroom, Aileen Swenson, Albany Middle School, Albany
  2. Aligning CGI Practices with Grade 3 & 4 Common Formative Assessments, Dan Church, Central Park Elementary,Roseville Area Schools

The MCTM Foundation will be looking for several new committee members over the next year.  

The MCTM Foundation Committee provides opportunities for financial support for the professional development of Minnesota math teachers. The MCTM Foundation Committee shall oversee all aspects of the operation of the Minnesota Council of Teachers of Mathematics’ Foundation.

The Purpose (Mission):

  • Raise funds to support classroom teacher’s attendance at MCTM conferences, college coursework, and other professional development. 
  • Encourage teachers to apply for funds.
  • Maintain effective practices for the financial health of the Foundation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and promote the organization’s mission
  • Be familiar with the organization’s programs, policies, and operations
  • Attend board meetings 
  • Review agenda and supporting documents prior to meetings
  • Participate in fundraising activities and special events
  • Review and decide which grants to approve prior to meetings

Applications for Spring Conference Support Grants are live on our web page.

For the Spring 2022 conference, the Foundation will offer three categories of grants: an Individual, a Team (maximum of 3), and a Student.

2022 Spring Conference: Please stop at our booth; we are so excited to greet you in person.  

At our booth, we will have our usual book sale with proceeds going to the Foundation. If you have books or reference materials that you would like to donate, please bring them to the conference;  we can give you a donation receipt.  

This year we will have a quilt raffle.  Sue Westegaard designed and stitched this quilt.  Stop by our booth to buy chances to win this quilt to hang in your classroom.

There will also be a Cornhole Game with prizes as well as a chance to take the game home.
