MCTM Foundation News January 2020

MCTM Spring Conference 2020 – April 23 – 25, 2020.

“I found every session I attended had at least one, if not more, strong takeaways that I can apply into my classroom. I was so excited to get back to school and try to implement some of what I learned at the MCTM conference immediately into my classroom. What I am most excited for is the opportunity to discuss our learning with colleagues that were also at the conference and sharing it with those who did not go. Thank you again for this amazing opportunity. This conference fed my passion for learning how to be better for our learners and they are what truly matter! “ – a quote from one of our awardees.

The MCTM Foundation offers Spring Conference Support Grants.

This year, we will be updating the applications to reflect some of the following changes:

  • Teams of 3 or more will receive a maximum award of $1650
  • All applicants will need to include their Minnesota teacher license number.
  • Money will not be awarded for meals beyond those included in conference registration.
  • As part of your application, we would like you to “describe your involvement in mathematics advocacy.”  We want to know what MCTM activities you have attended, taken part in, etc.
  • Applications are up and ready and can be found at mctm.org/grants.php

MCTM awards the Ross Taylor Mathematics & Leadership Scholarship.

It provides support of up to $500 for teachers to attend the Ross Taylor Symposium.

As of Spring 2019, the MCTM Foundation has awarded grants and scholarships to 112 teachers, totaling $44,184.50.  We would like to be able to award more grants.  If you would like to donate, go to http://www.mctm.org/foundation.php#Donations ….
