Research and Resources
Post-recess and lunch excitement is in the air as we walk back to our classroom; where our next subject to begin is math. As we all know, routines are crucial in the classroom so we begin our student-led, mindful breathing to focus our bodies and minds for learning.
The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), for the first time in its history, has released some math items for teacher and student use on our website. Supplemental information, such as metadata and answer option rationales, is provided to make the items more useful for classroom practice.
MCTM Staff Development Survey – your assistance is requested.
During the 2016 MCTM Spring Conference, a need was expressed for creating a statewide resource of how districts provide staff development during the school duty day.
The importance of this survey relies in our belief that staff development is vital for the success of any school district. Thank you for showing you value staff development by taking the time to complete this survey. Results of this survey will be shared in April.
There are a variety of technology-enhanced (TE) questions used on the MCA. One type of TE question is called multiple-response (MR). In this type of question the student is expected to select more than one answer option.
We hope this helps you in your efforts to make connections. If you find something you want to share, or are looking for volunteers within the MCTM organization, contact your Region Director who will be able to channel the information to the Communications Committee.
